Backtest without deploying and without specifying policies

Myst Platform Release (2022-03-03)

Hello Myst Platform users,

We have a small – but hopefully meaningful! – update this week: you can now kick off backtests without first deploying your project and without specifying policies in your graph. Now, you can create a graph and run a backtest from the client library without having to interact with the web UI. Please update your myst-alpha package at your earliest convenience to access these updates (instructions here).

⚡️ Enhancement:

  • You can now call backtest.run() from the client library or click “Run Backtest” in the web UI without first deploying your graph and without specifying policies for your graph.
  • Note: Once you have run a backtest on your graph, you will not be able to change any resources (except for policies) in your graph after running your backtest. If you would like edit your graph to include different features or models, you must first copy your project or create a new project before running additional backtests or generating live forecasts.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out via the chat embedded in the Myst Platform or email us at [email protected] with questions or feedback.

Thank you!
Ellery and the Myst team
